What is the function of each area within Country Ridge Cottage Venue?

 

The Field is an elegant exterior venue space. The perfect setting for cocktails, outdoor dining, lounge seating, an outdoor ceremony or dancing under the stars. String lighting and rustic backdrops create a romantic atmosphere for entertaining and capturing gorgeous photos!

 

The Cottage is a beautiful and rustic interior venue space. Clients can hold their ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, party, special occasion or meeting here.  Rustic wooden walls, high ceilings, rustic chandeliers and high windows create a warm and elegant setting in which to entertain.  We provide 20 club / accent chairs and 60 white folding chairs. The bar can be used to serve drinks to the cottage and back patio. 

 

Double doors from the cottage open onto wooden deck patio which further extends to a gorgeous covered deck, totaling to 1900 square ft of additional covered space to entertain, overlooking our beautiful and secluded wooded acreage. 

 

The Field is outdoor ceremony space with a gazebo, arbor, natural greenery and lush trees creating a beautiful backdrop.  The Field is located right behind the cottage.  
It is a peaceful spot for your guests to enjoy their time together under dimmed cafe lights, seated at our wrought iron or folding chairs, tucked right into the trees.

 

The Bride’s Room is a dressing room and lounge space (coming soon mirrors for prospective brides and attendants to get ready).

What is the maximum number of guests permitted? 

49 guests inside the cottage –our over 1 ½ acre can accommodate outdoor guests

What is included in the rental?

 

Renting Cottage will grant you access to all entertaining areas including the Cottage, Patio, Barn, & Field.

We provide 20 stylish club chairs (additional rent may be required), 60 folding chairs, 8 folding tables. We do not provide linens. You may bring in your own rentals for additional set-up & décor options.​

What is your catering policy?

​

We have an approved list of catering companies, including a variety of full service caterers, restaurants and food trucks to choose from. An outside catering fee of $200 would apply if a non-approved caterer is brought in.

Vendors working on property during your event must be licensed and insured. Proof of insurance must be provided, with Country Ridge Venue listed as an additional insured. 

 

​Are food trucks allowed?

​Yes, we love food trucks!

What is your alcohol service policy?

​

Alcohol served on venue property must be purchased through and served by Country Ridge Cottage's approved TABC bartending company. Contact HD Liquid Catering for pricing and info.

Are we required to have insurance?

 

Yes, Country Ridge Cottage Venue requires a certificate of liability insurance coverage for every event.  Go to The Event Helper or check with your homeowners insurance company for event date coverage.

Is the Venue air conditioned and heated?

​

Yes

Is there a dance floor? Do I need to install a temporary dance floor?

 

Yes, there is a dance floor located right at the center of the property which overlooks the gazebo. The dance floor is integrated in the patio.

 

 

What happens if it rains?

 

If you are hosting both your ceremony and reception at Country Ridge Cottage, the indoor area can be flipped after the ceremony.  our 1900 square feet covered deck is big enough to be used also. Guests will enjoy cocktails and mingle on the attached covered terrace while the indoor space is reset for the reception.  We recommend you choose a professional planner to plan and coordinate all of the details of your event.  

 

Is there a kitchen?


The venue has a full kitchen inside the cottage.  Your caterer will arrive with food prepared at their commercial kitchen. Cooking is not allowed on property.

Is there a groom’s room?

 

No, we do not have a groom's room.  Traditionally, groomsmen arrive ready for photos, and have access to the Venue's interior space prior to the wedding.

Where are the restrooms located?


The restrooms are located in the cottage with a full shower. We currently have two restrooms on the property.

Can I show videos or a slideshow? 


Yes,

Is a sound system provided?

 

Your band or DJ will provide all of the sound equipment needed for your event. However we do provide a 2000 watt speaker system for an additional fees.

What is the noise situation at Country Ridge Cottage Venue?

 

If your event is held in one of the outdoor spaces, you may hear service / county road noise, some air traffic noise from planes landing at McKinney National Airport located 3 miles south, and various sounds from neighboring farms.

Is someone from Country Ridge Cottage Venue here during the event?

 

Not included, but Yes, there can be an team member on site during your event for an additional charge.

Is there sufficient parking?

 

We have 12 marked and 13 unmarked parking spaces available on-site and 50 parking space at our remote parking.  Typically guests arrive at least 2 to 3 per car so there is plenty of parking for the event.  You may arrange for a shuttle / valet service to transport guests from remote parking location if needed. We provide shuttle for $200 for up to two hours (1st and last hour).  Uber and Lyft do offer services to our location.

Who does the decorating?

 

The Venue is a raw space that lends itself to unlimited decorating options. You may hire professionals, or decorate the spaces yourself.

Who is responsible for setting up the tables & chairs prior to our event?

 

All tables and chairs, both indoors and outdoors, will be set up by you, unless event coordination services are hired prior. Thirty days prior to your event, we will have a planning meeting to finalize your floor plan and event details.

Who is responsible for cleaning the space?

 

You, your caterers and/or decorators are responsible for food clean up and breaking down and removing all items at the end of your event.  We ask that you essentially leave the space the way you found it... (Cleaning fees of $200 will be charged if not cleaned).

What are the hours allowed for my event?

 

Rental hours are listed on our Rates + Info page.  Rental timeframe includes set-up, event time, and breakdown/clean up.  Decorating and storing of items prior to your event day is not permitted, due to other events and tours being scheduled.

Do you allow same-sex weddings at Country Ridge Cottage Venue?

Yes, we welcome everyone here at Country Ridge Cottage!

​

Am I allowed to hold a rehearsal at Country Ridge Cottage?

 

Yes, one hour of rehearsal time is included in our full day Wedding package.

​Is there a deposit required?

 Yes. a $500 deposit will required prior to the event and will be refunded if all terms in your agreement including cleaning and damage are met.
